Holographic Diffraction Gratings: RAINBOW
PAINTING
Technically, all holograms are diffraction
gratings, so named because a hologram is formed of microscopic diffraction
patterns which reflect or bend the viewing light. We've explored this
diffractive nature of holograms to develop diffraction gratings which are
based on light as the holographic object. Specifically designed holograms
shape laser and white light into stunning and powerful geometric patterns.
Other holographic effects create the spectral smears of lumia, such as the
background holographic image on this page. We've used diffraction
gratings to create layers of holographic space within our holograms. We've
made Holographic Optical Elements, (HOE's) that work as optics. Using
farfield diffraction holograms, we've projected rainbows of light onto
solid spaces. We've
also developed holographic diffraction gratings for use in laser scanning,
as pictured on the videos on this page.
The backdrop image on this page
pictures a multicolored reflection hologram composed of diffractive
effects achieved in part through swelling and shrinking the emulsion with
triethanolmine before exposure.

The black and white jpeg pictures a
transmission hologram designed as a holographic diffraction grating based
on Sacred Geometry. This large series of holograms can be viewed illuminated as a hologram,
or used to diffract laser light into geometric patterns.

Large Format Transmission Diffraction
Gratings
The diffraction hologram pictured

one of our large format transmission holograms,
In Other Worlds,
by Nancy Gorglione. This white light illuminated large hologram was created
by optically manipulating holographic diffraction gratings. A third view of
this hologram is directly below on the left.

A version of
Astral Gates, above, shows a grouping of transmission diffraction
grating holograms, each illuminated by a different type of light source.
The top left image, In Other Worlds, is here illuminated with a
point source white light, plus partial illumination from a mercury arc
lamp. The transmission diffraction hologram below left, is illuminated
with a white light point source- A Stagecraft PeeWee quartz halogen light.
The two holograms above, right, are geometric diffraction holograms
illuminated by a mercury arc lamp. The middle left hologram also has
partial HeNe laser illunination. The transmission hologram, bottom right,
is illuminated by red laser light. |

Reflection Hologram
Composites by Nancy Gorglione utilize a number of holographic
diffraction effects within their imagery. The holograms, far left, contain
geometric diffraction gratings and both pieces contain linear gratings. |

The Language of Light
What is the Language of Light
referred to throughout this site? A prosy statement, for without very
specific lights, we'd have no holographic images. Our whole view is composed
of resonant molecules whose diffraction of light makes reality visible. The
eye holds unattached rods and cones - "junk rods and cones" like "junk DNA"
- which are unattached to the optic nerve. Herein lies the visual apparatus
of potential evolution. And, the Language of Light is the very specific
visual patterning which facilitates evolution of body, speech and mind.

infrared and ultraviolet.
"If you can see it, then its not
there."
So say my horses, Dzogchen Masters
all.

"We project each other out of light,
Then quickly learn to fight
For what we think is real."
Hertok in "The Keys of Enoch" defined the Language of Light
as certain languages, Hebrew, Tibetan and Sanskrit, as holding the actual
resonance for the meanings of the words. Greg Braden helps define
Language of Light by interpreting the sets that Crop Patterns fall
within:
In our work
with holographic diffraction and laser light, we have explored Sacred Geometry, ray paths and mathematical constants to create
laser devices.
Based on
variants of the Language of Light, these devices facilitate upliftment.
