Opposite, A Very Brief Movie of the Reflection Hologram: Reclining Nude/Yantric Fringes. This hologram was a piece of serendipity. I'd been studying chakra systems, energy centers in the body said to be held on the breath, when I made these Masters. I'd hired Anna Marie, and the NY Holographic Labs. Rudi Berkhout made the optical set-up, and Shu Min Lin processed most of the film, so I was in good hands. The pulsed ruby laser double fired for some inscrutable magical reason, and the Master for this Reclining Nude resulted. The fringe patterns are at the body's chakra centers. They make patterns reminiscent of the Yantras Tantric practitioners draw to represent the different chakra centers. |

Butterfly Tinsel Painting
Nancy Gorglione calls a series of holographic works on paper "Tinsel Paintings." As part of this process,
she removed holographic foil from its plastic backing and laminated it in shapes to painted paper. This
process enabled Nancy to "paint" with holograms onto the surface of paper.
